Diverse community walking together

When illness hits, knowledge shouldn't be out of reach.

We provide education, support, and financial assistance to individuals and families navigating disease.

Our Story

This mission was born from lived experience.

Living with pulmonary arterial hypertension and Type 1 diabetes has taught us how isolating a diagnosis can feel — and how powerful the right information, support, and resources can be. A4DE was created to make sure no patient or family has to navigate disease alone.

"We don't just understand the system — we've lived it."

This Mission Is Personal

I'm not just an advocate. I'm a patient. Living with pulmonary arterial hypertension has given me a perspective that most people will never fully understand. I know what it feels like to sit in front of a doctor searching for answers, to navigate treatment options that feel overwhelming, and to carry the weight of uncertainty while still trying to live life fully.

Through my journey, I have also come to understand how critical it is to find the right medication and the right approach to care — not just what is commonly prescribed, but what is truly designed for the condition and the patient. I have learned how important it is for physicians to see beyond routine and fully experience the impact their decisions have on real lives.

Through that experience, one thing became clear: access to the right information, the right support, and the right resources can change everything. Too many people are left to figure it out on their own. Too many families are navigating illness without guidance, without support, and without financial stability.

That's why A4DE exists. We don't just educate — we advocate. We don't just inform — we stand in the gap. This work is personal. And every life we touch matters.

No One Should Walk This Alone

Being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at just 7 years old was overwhelming. At such a young age, I had to learn how to care for myself in ways most kids don't. As I grew into my teenage years and adulthood, that responsibility never went away — it only grew. I had to stay disciplined, aware, and intentional about my health through every stage of life.

Managing Type 1 diabetes during pregnancy brought a new level of responsibility and focus. And now as a mother, staying healthy is no longer just about me. It is about being present, strong, and consistent for my child. Over time, I have learned how to take control of my health and confidently manage my diabetes — but that journey was not always easy.

Through A4DE, my why is rooted in making sure no one feels alone in their journey. I want to be a bridge for individuals and families who may not have access to the resources, education, or support they need. Whether it is providing essential supplies, sharing knowledge, or simply offering encouragement, our mission is to uplift and empower — restoring hope, building community, and reminding people they are seen, supported, and capable of thriving despite their diagnosis.
